All pieces in this collection are flowers created with Scratchboard medium.  The reason creating flowers in this fashion is so difficult is due to the millions of very fine scratches have to be made in a multitude of direction to give each petal the soft feel and shadow effect.  The flowers are scratched into white clay that is covered with a thin layer of black India ink with a fiberglass brush and the fine end of an exacto-knife. The process is very intense, slow, and can take up to hundreds of hours.  The results are unbelievably realistic, dramatic, and simply extraordinary.  Available reproductions make it possible to purchase these pieces in various sizes, printed on various substrates, and frames that will work with any color scheme and embellish any wall.
